The Big Move
Part 1 - Engine 771 & Tender
This is the video history of how the Engine 771 & Tender were moved to it's present position at 410 W. Dallas Rd. , Grapevine Texas.
Interestingly enough all the track that the engine, tender, and baggage car sits on was laid and spiked by the Lone Star Hi Railers, and the Grapevine RR Master Charlie using a front end loader to lift the rails and put them in place. Many thanks to our own Mark Coleman and Steve Yatsko's efforts getting this track work all done as they worked for the railroads doing track work in his younger days.
Part 2 - The Baggage Car
This is the story of the Baggage Car (BC) that the Lone Star Hi Railers "O-gauge" layout is in, and how it got to it's current location.
The BC was visited by Mike Mclintock years earlier during a business trip while doing a printing assignment for his company. The car was owned by a printer along with a parlor car. Mike brought this to the attention of the City of Grapevine, which decided to purchase the baggage car for display behind the 771.
